James M'Kenzie-Hall was born in Oxfordshire, England, and educated at Durham University and the Courtauld Institute of Art in London.
As an art historian with postgraduate degrees from Sorbonne and Southampton, James combines lecturing with tourism. Licensed as an official guide for the past 15 years, he specializes in the medieval kings of France. His lectures and tours, for individuals, VIPs and small groups, concentrate on the cultural and historical aspects of French life.
James works regularly with Embassies and various official delegations (ambassadors, elected officials). He is an expert in art, architecture, and antiques; an Expert appraiser in Fine Arts from the Southampton Institute, England; and has been named a licensed 'conférencier' or guide-lecturer from the French ministry of tourism and culture.
He is also an expert on the great battlefields of Europe (World War One and World War Two) and hosts members of the US and French military.
